Laura posted a condolence
I was taking time to try to find the words but am now realizing that I don't think I ever will. I can still hear your voice resonating on the other side of the on the telephone receiver. “Laura Peters, Laura Peters you would sing say. Then you would ask if I’m hungry and I’d be a little confused but you would always follow by offering me a knuckle sandwich. You always knew how to make me smile and laugh and I will cherish that forever. I miss you and think of you each and everyday. Love you grandpa and know you love me too.

Pa,
The last time we saw each other, with me and my brothers and Mom at your bedside, you looked up at us and you said, "No one could have been luckier."
I know now that you were saying goodbye, that you knew. I guess I knew it then, too, but I couldn't (or didn't want to) accept it. I wish I'd have said it then, but I suppose this will have to do:
No one could've been luckier than me to have you as my grandfather. You taught me so much -- my sense of humor and sarcasm, to play the trumpet and to read music, how to say much with few words, and the value of shaving regularly... Well, I suppose three out of four ain't too bad, right?
Of all the colorful characters in our sprawling tribe, you were always my favorite -- an empathetic listener, a sensible critic, and a reassuring and constant presence through the good times and the bad. It's difficult to imagine stopping by Mom's house and not seeing you sitting in the kitchen cracking walnuts or in that chair in the living room watching Law & Order with us.
You gave so much to us, your family. And you continued it right to the end. Even during the final few months, when you were in much pain and undoubtedly frightened and probably not in much of a smiling mood, you nonetheless would flash me the biggest smile when I would come to see you. I know those smiles were for our benefit, to make us feel better, and they did. A final act of generosity from the kindest, most loving, and most selfless man I've ever known.
I would give anything to see you smile again. I will miss you immensely.

Uncle Vic,
There was no one in the family who gave better advice, had a more level head on ther shoulders and was as steady as you!
I will miss calling you on the phone about certain trumpet songs i use to hear and would ask you to identify the band and the trumpet player for me.
It was you who took me to my first High School football game that Saturday to see Kennedy play Passaic HS in Hinchliff Stadium. I remember how excited you got at half time when the marching band came out.
You will always be loved and never be forgotten! We will see each other again. Give Grandma a big hug and kiss for me too.
All my Love,
Nicky

Dad,
I'll remember everything, even the tough times between us, for I can say from my heart that you and I were not only related but involved in a relationship that grew and changed over the years. I will miss our talks; I will miss our teasing each other. But mostly, I will miss you...every day for the rest of my life. Love, Jan

Uncle Vic, as a Godfather, you were just that. When swimming together in Mom and Dad’s pool and throwing me in the air, schooling me on how to swim by yelling ‘now swim’. From teaching me to play the trumpet for 3 years or always helping me with my golf game, you showed me the love and patience that a Godfather can only give. But most important of all, you taught me and MY family the true meaning of ‘family’, which I will relish for the rest of my life. I will sorely miss you. As Randy put it, I am proud to be named Mauro Victor Ugliono. Love ya Unc !

To My Best Friend...Dad, you know our treasured daily phone conversations about life, love, and those "pesky" mysteries of the universe made my life as safe and secure as the rising and setting of the sun. You were always wise in your advice, kind, understanding, and patient with me whether we were talking about the your beloved Yankees or your favorite topic, your grandsons. "Dad?" I ask. "What am I going to do with this hole in my heart?" and a quiet voice is saying, "Fill it with life and love." THANK YOU, DAD. I'll try...

As a young girl, I remember sitting in Grandma’s living room and playing on her living room floor where the familiar sounds of Unlce Vic would fill the room – either a golf game on TV or a tune from a trumpet sailing down the stairs. Still to this day, if I hear the distinctive golf clap from my own television or a trumpet filled song, I think of Uncle Vic. It’s not every day that we take the time to think of the ones we love, so I am glad that I will have these reminders of a man who in later years, I would find laughing often with my husband or who, just by entering a room, would make my daughter smile. Those moments would make my own heart smile and remind me of how fortunate we were to love and know Uncle Vic.

How can you say on paper what a wonderful human being we all have lost. My Uncle Vic was one of God's greatest creations. He is now sitting at the dinner table with his friends and family right next to another one of God's greatest creations, Grandma Josie, eating homemade raviolis and looking down at all of us and probably breaking MY balls cause I'm not there eating with him. He always treated my Wife Katy and my daughter Josie(grandma's namesake) as if they were his own. There will never be, in our lifetime, another Uncle Vic, EVER :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I never knew that Victor was Vito and I didn't even know the correct spelling of Stifano. To me, he was just "Cousin Vic", one of the best guys in the whole world. He was my best friend's cousin, which,in a way, made him my cousin too. Victor will always have a special place in my heart. I send much love and so many hugs to all the family from Tony and from me. xoxoxo Phyllis & Tony
