Herman, Dolores (nee Knapp) age 83 of Totowa, passed away peacefully August 2, 2007 in the loving care of her husband. Born in Kearny, NJ on January 13, 1924 to John Knapp and Helen (nee Toth) Knapp. She had perfect attendance for her four years at Kearny High School, exhibiting the determination that was to remain to her last breath. She served the cause with the War Shipping Administration in WWII, where she met her husband, then serving with the Merchant Marine. They married in the midst of war, on October 12, 1943, and settled in Totowa in 1952. Dolores served in several secretarial roles until her retirement in 1989. She was active with the Totowa Happy Seniors and enjoyed traveling with them. All those who tended her last days remarked on her smile and spirit. She was surrounded by her family through her last days and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Beloved wife of Frank Herman of Totowa. Mother of Stephen and his wife Sarah of Totowa. Sister of John Knapp of Apopka, Fl. Grandmother of Dr. Jeffrey Herman, and Katherine and Evan Herman. Great-grandmother of Amanda and Matthew Herman. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Monday at 10:30 A.M.
